Everlasting Sprout Spring 2012 JFW
Okay, so we love this designer. His past collections are so great, and this show was right in line with those. The show started with a musical quartet, one of whom had a large instrument neither of us had ever seen before. It looked like a wood wind flute, except it started at the ground and went all the way past his head. The mouth piece for it then came back down to his mouth. It was crazy!
They began to play and then the first model appeared. Her hair was curled and she was wearing semi nerdy glasses. The colors of the collection were very pleasant pastel greens and blues and yellows, as well as some nice black and whites. There were tons of fun shoes and socks also. One thing that has stood out to us during Tokyo Fashion Week is the meticulous detail that obviously went into the designs. You can tell that a lot of care went into it and the collections really standout as a result. Everlasting Sprout did not disappoint. We loved the very playful feel of it all. Simply wonderful!
We will be posting more images from this collection soon : ) Have a great day!
Restir
So Far, Tokyo Rules
After the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Premiere, we walked around Roppongi, the district of Tokyo where the Tokyo Fashion Week main stage is, and we went to a store called Restir. The ground floor had some amazing cameras, as well as really clean looking watches and tech devices. There were also some high quality books, including a Tim Walker photo book that I’m going to go back and buy later. Also, my friend Satoru bought me a cool sketchbook there! We then headed up the stairs and browsed the clothes. There was a pair of grey boots that caught my eye as well as a pair of wood framed sunglasses that David was scoping out. After that, it was off to lunch!

Motonari Ono Spring 2012
We just saw the Monotari Ono show. Very cool! It had a very Moulin Rouge feel to it, which is awesome, as we are both big fans of that film : )
They had four models sitting on chairs in a very Chicago (the musical) way at the beginning of the runway. My favorite dress had very bright, colorful print and great lines. It was so beautiful! The hair styling was also really fun. All in all, it was a great start to our Tokyo Fashion Week experience. Everyone here has been so wonderful. We love everyone we have met. They are all so kind and cool and polite. What a great experience! Also, I was just got interviewed for Japanese television which was such an honor! I never thought that would happen! And we also met Hirofumi Kurino who was super nice, and we are going to check out one of his shops in Harajuku later in the week. Looking forward to that! We hope you like the pictures from the show : )
Fashion Week
Welcome to Tokyo!
Hi! So we arrived in Tokyo last night! It is so exciting and beautiful! We were mesmerized as we drove into the city by all of the lights! It was awe inspiring and reminded us of a scene from Tron. There were so many incredibly large buildings and the Disney Hotel was glowing in the night like something out of a dream. We also walked all around Shibuya last night and it was truly amazing. We loved how many people were there! It was like a sea of people with a back drop of millions of bright lights.
We are so excited to be here for Tokyo Fashion Week! Our first show is coming up in a few hours. We’ll be keeping you posted on how everything is going. Hope you are having a great day!

Mina Cvetkovic in the Dark
Aw! It’s been forever! How are you all? I have been out of control busy! And I am just getting over the flu! So brutal! Most of my family got really sick this week. It was awful! So glad we are all starting to recover. So this painting is one I did a few weeks back. It is of Mina Cvetkovic, and is definitely trippy! Haha! I was playing around with some different paper and modifying a few old techniques. I hope you all like it and are doing great : )
