Hip hip Hooray for Lacoste!

AW! Happy Sunday. Sunday’s are the best, so relaxing and peaceful. I start getting fired up for the week’s projects on this day every week. How’s your Sunday going for you? Excited for Halloween? What are you going to be? I think i finally figured out who i am going to be :) The painting today is of the Lacoste Collection for Sundance Chanel Full Fontal Fashion. I love Lacoste. I think if i could be sponsored by any company, it would probably be them! So playful and fun. I hope you like it! Also, thank you so much for all your kind words on the Vogue Features. I’m going to try to respond to all of you in a little bit! :)

Hello Miss Fetherston

Hey hey hey!~ How are yawl doing on this fine Thursday? Well, 3 days, still no word yet from Alexa Chung… but don’t worry, i will let you know if i do! On the flip side, sometimes you never hear back… like Taylor Swift, which i eventually got the painting to her people… but never heard if she liked them or not. ;( Anyway, today was another day of non stop drawing! Finished two drawings and starting on my third in a few minutes. The post today is a painting of Erin Fetherston’s Collection that i did for Sundance Chanel‘s Full Fontal Fashion. I first saw this collection looped on a tv at Erin Fetherston’s after party. I was invited to the after party by Bianca from Modelinia and met up with Rumi (Fashiontoast) and her boyfriend Colin, and Krystal Simpson. Also, Rumi introduced me to the Facehunter that night. All and all, it was a wonderful night! And thank you, Rumi and Colin, for those cookies! mmmmm :)

Well, hello friends. How’s your day going? The weather out here in California is incredible today! I’m loving it. Spent the whole morning drawing, and about to start up a new painting in a sec… but i remembered i had never posted about The Donna Karan Show at NY Fashion Week. I went with my brother and the beautiful and amazing Miss Gala Gonzalez. Oh, and the drawing above is one of the drawings i did for Sundance Chanel‘s Full Fontal Fashion of Donna Karan’s Collection. I hope you like it!

The Day of Donna Karan

Sept 14, 2009

It was probably the three weeks of working night and day without a day off, or maybe it was the the time change, or it was both, but either way, exhaustion had finally crept up on me. The day began as one of the most hectic days yet. My brother and I got up a little late, to a text message from Rumi (Fashiontoast). She said that she just found out that her flight went out earlier than she thought, and that she and Colin wouldn't be able to make it to the Donna Karan show, which was a bummer because Rumi and Colin are incredibly fun to hang out with. All week, I was trying to coordinate schedules with the lovely Miss Gala Gonzalez (am-lul.blogspot.com), and then it hit me. I thought, "What if Gala went to Donna Karan with us?!" So after a few calls and texts, Gala was in. Dave and I hopped into a cab and headed down to Greenwich Village. We arrived minutes before the time we were suppose to be there. After a little time had gone by, I got a text from Gala saying she had arrived. Dave and I made our way through the craziness, and we finally meet Gala in person. I have to say, meeting Gala was a trip highlight, for sure. She is amazing, and her accent is awesome, one of the most unique accents I've heard. After greeting each other, we ascended up to the showroom and were ushered into our seats, where seconds later, to our amazement, Milla Jovovich was seated directly in front of us. Donna Karan's Trademark "zen" vibe filled the place. The whole room hushed as the music began. As the first model stepped into sight, I was again reminded why Donna Karan is a Fashion Icon. The Collection had a soft and beautiful color pallet, full of gray, creme, and white with a striking red that made the collection pop. Whether you are looking for long, amazing, flowing gowns or incredible pencil skirts, this line has it all, with silhouettes that celebrate the female form and drape that flows like running water. Basically, I was honored to attend such a wonderful show, and the clothes were breathtaking! :) After leaving the show and saying goodbye to Gala and her amazing friends, my brother and I headed off to the Conde Nast building to meet up with the wonderful Naomi Nevitt of Teen Vogue. She was kind enough to give us a tour of Teen Vogue, which was incredible, and we ended up sitting and talking with her for quite awhile. It was amazing getting to know her as she is a wonderful and incredibly kind. Upon arriving back at our hotel, exhaustion fully took over. I lay down to rest for a moment, and the next thing I knew, it was 15 hours later! hah Click Here to see Fashion Week Video with has some of the Donna Karan Show.

Well, ok, so a few months back, I got asked to contribute time to Sundance Chanel‘s “Full Frontal Fashion“. So, needless to say, i was honored to collaborate and contribute to FFF. The painting above is the first out of 5 paintings covering New York Fashion Week Collections. Especially after making the Fashion Week video, i was Itching to draw it. This drawing is from the Rodarte Spring 2010 Collection. Well, there is also the interview that Full Frontal Fashion did with me.

The Infinity Dress

Good Afternoon, my friends! How is your day going? Ok. So, last night, my brother and i went to a Private Showing of Donna Karan‘s collection at Nordstroms with Fashiontoast.com‘s very own, Rumi, and her boyfriend Colin. The night was so much fun. It was great to finally meet Rumi & Colin; they are amazing, so nice. ;) Well, the night started out watching Donna Karan’s “System of Dressing” Video, which was really fascinating. Going into the night, i wasn’t super familiar with Donna Karan collections, and i have to say, i was blown away! So impressed. Her design philosophy is pretty much exactly the same as mine. The collection’s drape was pretty much flawless. haha! Can you tell how excited i am? haha Well, the best piece of the night, i think hands down, was her “Infinity Dress”. Basically, the dress has an endless number of looks. Seriously! After the presentation, i was able to take pictures of the model wearing the dress, and we played around with a handful of different looks of the Infinity Dress. In a matter of 5 minutes, the DK team whipped out 4 different looks. It was amazing, so i decided to draw the looks from last night. Keep in mind, this is all the same dress. i hope you like these sketches ;)

Christian Lacroix Couture Inspired

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Goodnight. Well, today is my last day home. Flying out to Texas bright and early tomorrow morning, so I’m trying to tie up some loose ends today. This painting i did over the last 2 days. It’s inspired by Christian Lacroix’s Spring 2009 Couture Collection. I took the design of the finale dress and made some slight changes. I think Christian Lacroix is incredible; so colorful and fun. I really hope you like the painting! Have a great day, friends! :)
