The Infinity Dress

Good Afternoon, my friends! How is your day going? Ok. So, last night, my brother and i went to a Private Showing of Donna Karan‘s collection at Nordstroms with Fashiontoast.com‘s very own, Rumi, and her boyfriend Colin. The night was so much fun. It was great to finally meet Rumi & Colin; they are amazing, so nice. ;) Well, the night started out watching Donna Karan’s “System of Dressing” Video, which was really fascinating. Going into the night, i wasn’t super familiar with Donna Karan collections, and i have to say, i was blown away! So impressed. Her design philosophy is pretty much exactly the same as mine. The collection’s drape was pretty much flawless. haha! Can you tell how excited i am? haha Well, the best piece of the night, i think hands down, was her “Infinity Dress”. Basically, the dress has an endless number of looks. Seriously! After the presentation, i was able to take pictures of the model wearing the dress, and we played around with a handful of different looks of the Infinity Dress. In a matter of 5 minutes, the DK team whipped out 4 different looks. It was amazing, so i decided to draw the looks from last night. Keep in mind, this is all the same dress. i hope you like these sketches ;)

  3. You captured the dress and model so perfectly! I was really impressed with the details in the collection…and those crazy fuzzy heels…and the tuna ice cream cones.

We really enjoyed meeting you and your brother too, we were talking about how much we want to take you up on the invite to your studio on the drive back :)

  7. Danny.. seriously I haven't been inspired to make art in about 6 months now and the ONLY time I EVER feel like picking up a pencil or a paintbrush again its when I see your work. Thank you, you may get me out of my creative block.

These drawings are brilliant and I'd love to get my hands on one of these infinity dresses. 4 for the price of 1!

The infinity dress isn't so new. Go to craftster.org and you'll see people who have been DIY-ing something very similar for the past three years or so.

  9. i've never commented out of pure laziness (lol, sorry!), but i've been reading your blog for a long time and have a ton of your drawings saved on my computer.
i was just looking through some of them, and felt compelled to tell you that you are seriously one talented man, as we can all see by this gorgeous drawing.

looking foward to more of your work, danny!
