Wow, I just sat down to type up this post and it hit me how tired i am. So if things are spelled funny or sentences don’t make sense, it’s just because my brain is slowly falling sleep as i type. hah :) Well, finally today i started back working in volume three of my Character Sketch Book. I can’t remember the last time i drew in it. So i picked up a pen and drew this one of model Anna Mariya Urazhevskaya by Michelangelo di Dattista. It’s the 225th drawing in my Character Sketch Book and i like how it turned out. Reminds me a bit of Tim Burton. I hope you like it!
Book Update: We finished chapter 7 today and are currently 176 pages into the rough draft.
Hi Friends! Well the week is almost to a close! (finally) I’m so exhausted, been a few late ones over the last few weeks. I’ve been editing a video, thought i would have it ready for you today, but it looks like it’s going to be up on Sunday! I hope you like it. :) The Mixed media painting today is from my Character Sketch Book. It’s of a Polish model who i really think has an interesting look… her name is Kaja Sokola. I drew Kaja awhile back, it was just a Scribble Sketch. So i wanted to do a more polished picture this time around. It was hard to find many images of her, but i really liked this one. I’m looking forward to seeing more shoots with her. I hope you like the painting :) and hope you’re having a great day!
Well, i wasn’t sure if I was going to finish this drawing in time, but i finished!
So my sista from another mista, Sophie Ward, posted a while back on her blog Paper Castle Press
an article she wrote for Australian Harpers Bazaar.
In the article, there is a picture of Sophie and Gemma at age 5 & 7,
And it pretty much is the cutest picture i have ever seen.
i’ve been meaning to draw it for years, and finally I couldn’t resist drawing it.
i miss Sophie. It was so much fun painting the sisters :)
I hope you like it.
Well, spent all yesterday painting and sketching up a storm, and needless to say my studio is so so so so so messy, so some cleaning is in order today. ;) Also I’m happy to say, i started up working on my Character Sketch Book again! It is like an old friend i’ve missed a lot. That book/series is definitely my favorite and most personal series, so I’m glad to get back working on finishing Volume 3! (though I’m still at the start) The Drawing today is Character Sketchbook drawing 205, And it’s of IMG Models Pink Haired Girl Charlotte Free. I took this picture backstage at Charlotte Ronson Fall 2011 Show and knew it would make for a great drawing. I really like how it turned out. I love her expression in the drawing. Makes you kind of wonder what she is thinking about, don’t you think? I hope you like it ;)
Good Afternoon! Shoot, i think all the late nights caught up to me today! Ended up over-sleeping by a few hours today, so i’m playing catch up right now so i have to make it short, because i’m trying to finish up a painting for you all… Hopefully, have it up tonight! :) Today’s post is the first mixed media drawing out of Volume 3 of my Character Sketchbook. I really like how volume 3 was turning out… i need to start back working on it again. The photo was from one of my all time favorite fashion photographers, Steven Meisel, and it was from his “Amish” editorial for Italian Vogue which is one of my favorite photoshoots. I hope you like it, and hope you’re having a great day.
SO…. I Finally had the 1 millionth Visitor today! That’s seriously mind blowing! 2 years ago when i started this blog, i honestly didn’t think anyone would ever read this blog…. Amazing. Thank you all for your support. You blow my mind daily… Seriously! The Drawing day is my third plane Sketch of Frida Gustavsson. Seriously, I have so much fun drawing her. Thank you alice for helping me stumble on to her :) I hope you like this drawing. P.S. Posted my first outfit in awhile on my Lookbook.nu, you can check it out here :)
Well, hello my friends, how was your weekend? Mine was so nice! Just finished watching “It’s a Wonderful Life”…. Oh, my, that movie is so good! I have to say Frank Capra is my All Time Favorite Movie Director. Such incredible stories and story telling. So the Image today is Plane Drawing #2 from My Flight to New York last week. It was my first day drawing model Frida Gustavsson. It was the day I fell in love with drawing her too! :) She is adorable :) I hope you like this sketch. Also I spent this weekend helping my friend Alice, revamp her site. She has a wonderful blog (which I’ve posted some images from for inspiration friday) but we revamped the site and her blog really didn’t have a name, so we came up with the name for it “Clouds & Candy“. Cause if you look through her site, it will remind you of Clouds & Candy. Haha Check it out @ www.cloudsandcandy.com ! :)
Well Hello Friends! I’m back from my 18 hours in NY! Prom was amazing! Thank you Sophie for going with me, and thank you Claudine for having me come out to it! It was a blast! :)Well, on the flight i drew for the first time a model that my friend Alice showed me. Her name is Frida Gustavsson! I have to say, she is currently my Biggest Model infatuation right now! I love Drawing her, she is amazing. So elegant & sweet. I ended drawing like 6 or 7 pictures of her on the flight. This is one of pictures i did. i was on a roll. hahaha Well, i hope you’re all doing amazing. :) P.S. I posted this video of this 6th grade kid covering Lady Gaga Song on “Inside my Brain“. Check it out. It’s mind blowing! haha It is!
Well my friends, I’ve finally started to figure who will be the main girls of Volume 3 The Character Sketchbook. I can tell you that Tanya Dziahileva & Ali Michael are going to be two of the main girls of the book. :) I’m really excited cause i need to get back to the basics, and start practicing more and start improving more. I actually need to work on live drawing, but no models live near me, to come sit for drawings, C’est la vie ;( So i guess i’m back to working in the Character Sketchbook. But I really hope you like the sketch today!
P.S. Thank you so much Elana & Jason Wu for your kind words on the Blog! :)
